Two Socks for TE came into our rescue program on July 26, 2023. Two Socks for TE came into our rescue program from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office along with 28 other horses, 23 cows, and 19 sheep and goats, as a cruelty case. Sadly, 2 of the cows had to be euthanized the day of the seizure. The animals were living in deplorable conditions, not enough land or food to accommodate 71 total animals. On January 25, 2024, in the district court of Lincoln County and the State of Oklahoma having filed its motion regarding the animals, court has awarded the ownership to Blaze's Tribute Equine Rescue. Although we do know some of the horse's identities, all horses will be adopted out as grade horses, without registration papers, as the former owner has not released those. Two Socks for TE is a Beautiful, Palomino, Quarter Horse, Stud. Two Socks for TE was foaled on January 21, 1998, which makes him 25 years of age upon arrival into our program. Two Socks for TE is very thin with a body score of a 2. Two Socks for TE has severely contracted flexor tendons in RF and moderately contracted tendons in LF, LH, RH. This is causing his fetlocks to "Knuckle over" and the horse is 4/5 lame in the RF due to the contraction. He lays down frequently due to the discomfort. Bloodwork showed him to be anemic and his fecal shows he was infested with internal parasites. Two Socks for TE has a long road of recovery ahead of him. We will update as he progresses. Update January 2024 Two Socks for TE is looking amazing. With a proper nutritional diet, his legs have improved on the LF, LH and RH. We continue to work with him and hope to get some improvement on the RF. We have spent a great deal of time correcting his feet. He is much more comfortable today and is doing well. Two Socks for TE will most likely remain a sanctuary horse, due to his age and condition. Two Socks for TE is a super sweet boy, he loves attention and handles everything so well. We will continue to update as he improves.
